Irish-Australian showman Bobby Fox – famed for his starring role in the hit musical Jersey Boys – makes his Hong Kong premiere with a light-footed, quick-witted evening of tap dancing, songs and storytelling.
Charming and charismatic, Fox shares the stage with accomplished pianist Jack Earle and a seven-piece local big band showcasing his virtuosic skills and sharing anecdotes about his 20-year career, his family in Ireland, and his time as an award-winning Irish dancer.
Moving through jazz and Broadway standards, classics, contemporary hits and Irish folk tunes, Fox taps tributes to Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, trades rhythms with the band, and highlights his musical versatility with numbers on the bodhrán – an Irish frame drum – all the while mixing clever crowd work with stunning choreographed numbers.
This Hong Kong premiere performance marks Fox’s first appearance in Asia.
